Is it weird for a foreigner to call an older guy oppa? I’ve been told that Korean guys don’t like to be called “oppa.” Is this in general? Or because of aegyo?

I think that it's safe to use name-씨, for example 현장씨 or omit this at all if it is complete stranger, for example on the street

you should call an older guy "oppa" if he's a close friend of yours. Otherwise, they will find weird and probably tell you that they're not your oppa
