Hello evryone , i was wondering about the cost of life in Ukraine especially in Kiev , is it possible to live normaly with 500 usd per month? should i buy food at mall or at local market? and aout the transportation do they have good public transport? is it cheap ? is it possible to use bycycle ? thanks for all your answers ?

Hi. Yes, you can live with 500 USD per month. I prefer to buy foos in malls. Variety is much bigger and food is cheaper. Public transport isn't wonderful, but I think it's ok.It's cheap: 0,1 USD per one trip. You can use bycycle almost everywhere.

are the ukrainians friendly to the foreighners? i mean if i hang out alone or go to work out at Gidropark or go mall buying food or stay late at night, is it safe? is there places to avoid or thing to not do or to not say ? are the people easely offended or is any sensitive topic to avoid? thanks for your future answer

@Cloud7 Actually Ukrainians are friendly and they always will help you with buying something or with finding a place (if you will speak the same language) Ukrainians are open people and you can talk about different things. But I think, that talking about politics is bad idea. You should avoid walking in bad-lighted places along in the evenings and do not leave your money or other things unattended. Because people are different.

thanks alot for this answer , my intention is to live in Kiev some time coz iam fan of sports and i want also learn a job is possible during my stay ( like plumber or carpenter or welder ...) so i can see i must learn Ukrainian language , for me it's ok no problem i like to learn things and from your point of view do you think it's possible to do it ? i mean do they give Ukrainian lessons in Kiev for foreighners ? and once i learned the language you think it's possible to learn thoses kind of jobs?

Yes, there are some courses for foreigners where you can learn Ukrainian. And I think if you are good at this kind of work it won't be a problem to find a job

thanks for the answer , the thing is i dont want to work , i want to learn a job i mean the skills itself for example learn : welding or carpenter , not for work in Ukraine just as personal skill , iam even ready to pay a local person or company who can teach me if it's possible , your very kind to answer all thoses questions btw , and if all Ukrainians are like you it will be so nice to stay there

Sorry for didn't understand you. Yes, we have different universities and colleges, where they can teach you this work. But you should know Ukrainian very good.

500 usd is about an average salary in Kyiv. It can be enough if you don't have to pay rent. Otherwise it isn't really comfortable. Price for a small flat is from 200$ (not in the centre but acceptable).
I suppose most people prefer to buy food in malls though if there is a market near your home it's convenient to buy some things there: for example, seasonal products, fruits or berries are usually cheaper in markets.
Transport is safe and really cheap (by EU measures): 0,15 - 0,25 $/trip. A few transport tips:

Using bicycle is possible not everywhere, and to be honest it isn't much pleasure. There are few cycle tracks, hardly any bicycle parking lots, and part of the city has uneven relief.
As for Ukrainians - you should be ready really few people know English. The main hope to get help or some answer is asking people who are 15-30 y.o.
And many people are friendly and nice but not all of them are like Marialis02, don't even hope😄

@roman5033 thanks for the answer , you know iam a simple man , i just eat and do sports , i dont hang out or shopping or alcohol or cigaret or any other stuff i like walk alot and do fitness plus sometimes go library and learn languages also , ahh btw iam vegetarian so is ot a problem for there? i wish people were like Marialis02 ... so bad you broke my dream :)) iam joking it's ok , just nice and normal people is ok to me , and if some are nice like Marialis02 it's great :)

Hey. For 300 dollars you will live in Ukraine for more than a month. The average ukrainian earns $ 100 per month. The local market has a lot of fresh food, the mall has a great selection of products. Transportation is a little uncomfortable, the fare costs 5 grn. You can skate on a bicycle, it's faster than on another transport (if you're in a hurry)

hello. it's possible live for 500 $ even if you pay rent. of course you will find great number of different courses, but I recommend you find tutor (kiev.repetitors.info < great website with professionals).
Also you will find awesome places looks like libraries but it's kind of mix with cafe.
If you wanna find support on street, just find someone looks like 20-40 yo.
about vegetarian food, it's no problem to find some, we have great number of mall here)

It is ok to live with 150 US dollars per month, people gets 100-150 in small towns in most cases, and they can't by their own cars or flats, as example wv golf3 cost 3000us dlrs, Average salary is 150. Good jeans costs 35-50, 1kg of meet costs 5 dollars, liter of gasoline costs 1s, and you should pay bills, for example apartments with 2rooms - 20-40(electricity and cold water)in summer, 50-80 in winter. It difficult sometimes

It will be expensive in some ways, but it's so normal. In UAH you will have somewhere in the 13126,8grn, not a bad amount, but when the money is there they quickly end. Latter in the mall, at least you will not catch anything from illnesses. Not all vydy transport good. But cheap. It is possible but only take precautions.
