If they were complete sentences, then both of them should have "fell down."
You trip over an object, uneven surface, or because you stumble. The motion is forward. So, the first sentence should be, She tripped and fell over (something). Or just She tripped and fell down.
When you slip, the action is backwards (you fall on your back) so saying I slipped and fell down is fine.
