The second tone
When a 3rd tone is followed by another 3rd tone in a group, the first 3rd tone changes to a 2nd tone.

Although the pinyin is “nǐ hǎo”, when there are two words are of the third tone, the premier word should be pronounced with the second tone. In Chinese, this rule called “上声变调”. For example, “老虎”，its pinyin is “lǎo hǔ”, but its pronounce is “láo hú”。
