@ljn7811: obvious evident apparent . There really isn't any difference at all when we speak between obvious & evident we can use either or word (interchangeable even though we 'should' use the different words at certain times when we talk we use either or ) I think easiest way to explain* obvious is something that is understandable we understand why it is obvious . example.... It was obvious she was angry you can see she was angry and understand she's angry
* evident (evidence) is something obvious in the fact that it was seen there is evidence to support how/why she is angry. .. For example she was so angry she banged her hand on the table (so the evidence is she banged her hand this is evident)
*Apparent is not proven or real it isn't obvious to you and not any evidence of anger (you didn't see anything, you don't understand or you heard you didn't see for yourself.... . For example i was told apparently she was really angry. So again you didn't see why she was obviously angry and you didn't see any evidence (evident) of anger therefore it's only apparent........
I am saying this is the easiest way to explain but when trying to write it's not as easy.!!Apparently you didn't quite know the difference between the words I hope it's now obvious & evident to you what I'm meaning hahahah 😁 😁 😁

Distinct is something that is clear to see.. For example.... That is a very distinct colour..... There were 3 very distinct categories (meaning they were obviously different it's plain to see)
Overt is open to see obvious to see. For example he was not overt about it at all (meaning he did not hide he was open for all to see he didn't try to hide it very open about his actions )

Sorry even though the other words were overtly there I apparently didn't see them even though they were evidently and overtly plain to see . So I am sorry about that but you got the the meaning of the other words so you should be able to distinctly know the meanings of them all now (hahahah 😁 😁 😁 again)
