When filling in a job application or a similar form, under experience you would list any experiences you have had that are relevant to the position (volunteer, ect.) Career is more specific as it refers to experience gained by working.

Experience is usually a job where you can't move up. A career is a job where you move up and get promotions. Experience could prepare you for a career.
