@eatingramen:I'm still a little confused.Here are a few questions.
1.Are there significant differences between the two words?Is it OK to substitute one of them with the other most of the time?
2.Can you make a couple of sentences with them to emphasize their differences?
3.From the dictionary,both of them can be used to express the meaning "wake up".At this point,are they the same?
4.Does it sound natural?If not,could you help me correct it?
That's a bunch of questions!I hope you don't mind!

@Caballero1998: 1. There are not any significant differences really, other than 'rouse' being used to express sad or angry feelings. You can only substitute 'aroused' with 'roused' when the feeling thats being provoked is sad or angry. The word 'aroused' is often used when describing sexual feelings, so use it with caution!
2. Arouse: "When she read her textbook, it aroused her knowledge." "The alarm clock aroused his sleep."
Rouse: "John left Susan, rousing her feelings as she cried." "She was roused after a long nap to the smell of cookies!"
3. When 'aroused' and 'roused' are being used as verbs for waking up, they are the same.
4. 'Aroused' is frequently used in the English vocabulary, while 'roused' is used rarely. I would avoid the word 'roused' because it sounds unnatural. When using the word 'aroused', you should clarify whether what you are trying to say is for sexual related feelings or other feelings. Most Americans only use the word 'aroused' for sexual related feelings, so it may just be best to avoid the word in general!

@eatingramen thanks for the detail explanation. as you mentioned "arouse" should be avoid because it's more sexual related, and rouse is a rare word. then what will be a suitable & good word in every day life using instead ?
