Question about Spanish (Mexico)

Subjunctive is used to express a desire, feeling or something fictitious that never happened but could have. First part of the sentence is the subjunctive and second is the conditional:
= "If I could live in this city, I would go out every night."
Maybe using a verb that doesn't need an auxiliary in English is more helpful:
= "If I were your brother, I would tell you not to study that."
Conditional is used, redundantly, to give a condition in order for something to happen or to be.
