What is the difference between take a trip and make a trip ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

In the Oxford dictionary I found "he makes frequent trips abroad". Would it be incorrect if I said " he takes frequent trips abroad"?

They are very similar and interchangeable, but "make a trip" is used more often for trips with a specific purpose.
ex: He made a trip to the store (specifically to buy something). Sally makes weekly trips to the salon (to do her hair). Bob made a trip to Moscow (this sounds like Bob has a specific reason for visiting).
"Take a trip" can be used in any of the examples above, but it also feels like a longer trip/travel/vacation.
ex. He took a trip to the park (to relax, maybe?). My wife takes camping trips in the summer. Bob took a trip to Moscow (this sounds like Bob might be on vacation, but always depends on context).
Your example of "make/take frequent trips abroad" mean exactly the same thing. Someone else feel free to take a shot at this one!
