uh，the important thing is more reading chinese' books.for example ：u can surf the net to find out the juniorest book or paper，and then keep more patience in learning

You can use online materials as an extra source of learning, but don't totally rely on it when you just started, as I've been playing games and watching anime for over a decade but my Japanese is still crappy.
I'd recommend to start with the building blocks such as pinyin to have a taste of the pronunciation , meanwhile you can try some simple characters and basic form of sentences. Once you have built around 3000 vocabularies you can attempt some general reading and pay more attention to the grammar. I'm sure you'll be more comfortable with rest if the journey.
And the most important tip is use as much as possible(refer to other answers).

I suggest you to learn Pinyin first. And then you should learn grammar. At last you can begin to talk with people by QQ or Weixin and read some short articles.
