- We had to hang at the station for an hour because my mum couldn't pick us up till four.
- I was exhausted. I left home at six in the morning and I didn't get till ten at night.
- It started to pour halfway there. We were absolutely soaked by the time we arrived.

I think it would be better if you say: We had to stay at the station..
The 2nd sentence: I left my home at six (o’clock) in the morning and I didn’t get home till night.
-When you don’t say “and I didn’t get till at night” people don’t know what you didn’t get. A pet? Food?
