와 and 과 is same function. but 와 is used behind a word that has no final consonant. 과 is behind a word that has consonant.
'사랑'과 '영혼', '물'과 '불', '너'와 '나', '바지'와 '셔츠'
and 하고 is similar too. but is not about consonant. mabye...?

하고 is a colloquial style of 와/과
but you can also use 와/과 in conversation.
no consonant + 와
ex) 친구와 나와 너와
consonant + 과
ex) 책과 연필과 선생님과
no consonant/consonant + 하고
ex) 친구하고 책하고 나하고 연필하고
