Question about Finland
As an American trying to leave the god awful country, how much does it cost to live in Finland? I understand it could be quite high but what would an apartment and food cost for example?

depends on region and area. In Helsinki what is most expensive 600-1000euros for rent and 200 for food. 300-400 for car. After those what you spend for eating out and entertainment. phone bill 20-30e and fibre 20-60e.
1500+ after taxes I would say. More if you have family.
Everything small cost a little more than in states due to vat.
Those don't include healthcare costs so again depends a lot if you need to use private practice from time to time but public healthcare depends a lot on area.
