"Bleach" is when something is made pale or white by something. It's also a noun for certain chemicals used for lightening or cleaning, such as peroxide.
"The old sun-bleached bench in the garden"
"The lady had bleached blonde hair"
"I need to buy bleach to clean the bathroom."
"Blanch" comes from the French word for 'white'. It's mostly used in cooking. You boil vegetables for a very short time then put them in ice water.
"He blanched the green beans"
Another use is to describe when a person goes pale.
"When he heard the news, his face blanched."
