Can you give more context? one would put a dollar in a jar to tip someone. Or one could put money in a jar as a "piggy bank", somewhere to keep their savings

@nneell In America, a piggy bank is usually shaped like a pig and it has an opening at the top where you can put coins and dollars inside of it to save money. In older piggy banks, you break it open when it is full. In newer piggy banks, there is a hole at the bottom with a stopper to keep the money in the piggy bank. It may seem a little odd to some people 😂

Let’s cut to the chase. okay??
I’ll give him your number if I could just get a salad.
I did not yell.
I’m not putting a dollar in the jar.

@nneell yeah, if he was trying to get food, it was some kind of restaurant and the jar was for tips. I'm not sure if tips are allowed in Persia as they are in America. In America waitresses make minimum wage, so tips provide extra money for them because they don't always make enough to pay their bills

@nneell It really depends on the place. In most restaurants, you give the waitress the tip. In fast food places, cafés and diners, there's a tip jar. And after the place closes, they usually divide the money equally between employees.
