What does not so close!!(I hope you see what are you doing.) mean?

Not so close is an expression you can say, when you are about to make a decision but someone tells you "not so close" or "not too soon" because they want you to recheck the decision.

or

it can mean Watch out for possible danger..example
I am learning to parallel park for the first time. I am backing into the parking space, my instructor could say, "not so close" which means I might hit the car behind me if I do not look carefully.

It could mean many things, but I need more context!

Not so close!! means that you want someone to give you more personal space. Or to back up.

in this context, it means try to aim farther away. don't shoot as close to me as you just were.

@sanfransokyones Got it! Well first of all if it were you or me, and a bullet came flying our way, we would probably shout, scream, panic. But in this context they are soldiers/warriors. They are as cool as a cucumber! They train to keep calm and cool during these incidents. So that is why he said NOT SO CLOSE. He is showing he is brave and just responds to the soldier, Not So Close without skipping a (heart) beat because he is a soldier! This would be a response with someone with nerves of steal and knows this is part of his dangerous job, having bullets flying around him.

That's exactly how it is translated. He chose to shorten the phrase, to express the urgency of the feelings. Omitting some words can either make it sound urgent, or becomes lost in translation. It's something that has to be learned first hand. This app makes that easy.

I think the soldier is saying NOT SO CLOSE in terms of how close the bullet came to him. IN other words, you can shoot close, but not THAT close! Again, he could have heard the bullet close by or it grazed his head...by saying that phrase he is saying "you can fire your bullet close to me, but any closer would've killed me. It's a nicer way than saying, You (&^__#@! , you almost killed me!

Just my thoughts!
