A music group can split up and not perform together again. A couple breaks up

Split up means to seperate. For example, a group of people could split up. Break up usually means to end a romantic relationship. For example, someone might say that they want to break up with their boyfriend/girlfriend. Fall out when talking about people means that they had a disagreement and are no longer friends or friendly.
